Louisville Community Mourns
the tragic loss
Benjamin Ryan "Ben" Petrzilka
Grandson of Louisville City Councilman Clete Petrzilka
Benjamin Petrzilka, 13 year old grandson of Louisville's Clete
Petrzilka, lost his life in the Scout camp tornado at Little Sioux,
Iowa. Ben's parents, Bryan and Arnell Petrzilka of Omaha, are doing
everything they can to improve the safety of Scout camps by helping to
provide storm shelters. They remain staunch supporters of Scouting,
and hope that no other families will ever suffer the same kind of loss.
To this end, the Ben Petrzilka Memorial Fund has been established at
Home State Bank in Louisville. Funds in excess of the final expenses
of Ben Petrzilka will be used for Scout safety. Initial meetings with
local and national Boy Scout leadership have already been held, and
preliminary work on the storm shelter concept has begun.
They say every cloud has a silver lining. Although the loss is nearly
unimaginable, the safety upgrades will make a difference for
generations of future Scouts. Donations may be made at
Home State Bank
in Louisville.

4th SPARKLERS!
BUILD Fundraising
Event to earn money for new City lights!
June 25th - July 4th
Businesses United In Louisville's Development will be selling fireworks through
Bellino Fireworks at the vacant lot situated behind the Quik Pik on Hwy 50 &
Main Street!
BUILD president,
Terri Scholting and secretary, Andy Mixan attended a meeting on
Monday, June 16th and learned about the history of Bellino Fireworks:
It is
one of the largest and most competitive fireworks companies in the U.S.
The company has been in business for over 30 years. The products are
guaranteed and prices are unbeatable! Customer satisfaction is
guaranteed! Be sure to stop by and shop our tent throughout the 10 day
period!
BUILD is in charge
of setting up the entire operation. We will be in need of volunteers
to help us out. We need to unload the trailer and setup the stand
on June 25th from 4-8PM. This is a huge project and we'll take all
the help we can get. We will also be asking for volunteers to help tear down
on July 4th from 4-8PM.
The scheduling of
workers is being handled by Paul and Nancy Mcmanis. If you are interested
in working a shift, please give them a call at 402-234-3715 or email Nancy
at pm51449@alltel.net.
"This project is for
the entire community to enjoy! We are all proud of our beautiful
downtown and the display of Holiday lights. It only helps to enhance
our Main Street. And now, with the partnering of BUILD and our
community we have a way to continue to light the city!"

The Most Urgent Call
June 11, 2008
“On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake,
----------
Thursday Morning June 12th, 2008 millions and millions of people world wide froze in their tracks, in stunned wonder and amazment; trying to imagine a situation, so dire, so urgent, so critical in Heaven that God had to call Ben, the natural leader, and 3 more of America's Best Scouts to report immediately.
Not soon, not when you get a little older, but right now
Well, whatever it was, I am sure it is all under control now.
You can always count on a Petrzilka to answer the call
and rise to the challenge.
Thanks Ben
