"Don't Dress For Dinner" at the Lofte

DDFDinner

The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces the opening of its fall farce, "Don't Dress For Dinner," on Friday, October 15.  The fast-paced script by Robin Hawdon sees Bernard carefully preparing a romantic weekend in the country with his mistress.  His wife is off to visit her mother, a gourmet chef has been hired to cater the evening and Bernard's friend will provide the alibi.  What could possibly go wrong?  As is in every scripted farce, the audience is soon witness to a combination of misunderstandings, fibs and impossible situations.  Lofte Artistic Director Kevin Colbert produced this show during Mahoney State Park's winter season several years ago where it still holds the record for highest attendance.

Kevin Colbert both directs and plays the lead in the Lofte production.  The play also stars Shari Hoelker and Doug Rothgeb of Omaha, Renae Koehler of Firth, Kevin Holdorf of Manley and newcomer Toni Santee of Plattsmouth.  Production dates are October 15-16, 21-23 and 27-30.  Thursday through Saturday curtain times are 7:30pm.  Sunday shows are 2pm matinees.  General Admission tickets are $17 and can be purchased either online at wwww.Lofte.com or by calling the box office (402) 234-2553.

The Lofte is holding a special fundraising event in conjunction with this production.  From October 27-30, audience members will have the opportunity to come early and have a dinner theater experience right on stage!  A cordon bleu menu has been specifically designed to match the gourmet meal in "Don't Dress For Dinner."  The cost is $25 in addition to the show ticket and advance reservations are required.  Those who are interested should call the box office with questions.
