Those %^&$# Little Ankle Biters!!
It was a dark and stormy night...
Say, a round of applause for all of you who have contributed to LouisvilleNebraska.Com in the last few weeks! As you can see here: http://www.louisvillenebraska.com/wusage/ we are getting a lot of participation from a lot of people and the word appears to be spreading. Thanks everybody!
A large part of the fun of living in Louisville is the people and personalities of the people you meet. I am thinking of our resident marathon runner who participates in nationally prominent races including the Boston Marathon every year and finishes very respectably. He also makes the best breakfast sausage in the midwest and works 9 days a week, every week in the Grocery store that amazingly enough is named after him; Jeff's Jack & Jill.
Its Jeff and lots of others that provoked (?) me to open a new topic on the discussion board; "Nominate your Favorite Louisvillian!" Log in now: http://www.louisvillenebraska.com/discus/index.html and spotlight a local hero!
I had a discussion with a friend of mine last night, who had an easy dozen ideas that effectively saved water and I thought very creative! I am hoping that he will find his way to our popular Discussion forum: http://www.louisvillenebraska.com/discus/ and add some of these ideas to the "Water Saving Tips" area.
Over the Back Yard Fence
Heard Around Town.. (Latest Gossip) http://www.louisvillenebraska.com/discus/
This venue harkens back to the formative years of the communications age, where the deployment speed of telephone service in rural communities was directly related the popularity of the "Party Line" (see: http://www.nhb.com/telephon.htm). Bear in mind, that this was before cable and that a lot of television content consisted of what we have come to know and love as a "Test Pattern", (see: http://www.rectaltronics.com/test-pattern.htm) so picking up a little local gossip was main stay entertainment. Now that we have become so sophisticated in all our technology, it is probably time to regress to our more base instincts and rekindle some good old fashioned local gossip.
Read the Rules First!!!
The folks at the City, have sent their information and the Meeting Minutes, (abbreviated) for the June 14th Meeting have been posted, here: http://louisvillenebraska.com/city/index.htm and we are still woefully lacking in good used junk, (err.. I mean merchandise), in the FREE classified adds section. Seriously folks,.. I have to believe that there are at least a dozen flobees, fondue pots and "Big Mouth Billy Bass" singing fishes out there that you could find a new home for if you would take 17 seconds and post a listing here: http://louisvillenebraska.com/bbs/ so give it a try, it doesn't bite and did I mention... FREE??? (jeeeesch.. what a tough crowd...)
But I digress....
I was informed by those who should know... My personal council of Elders, JD, EH and GR that these red itchy swollen spots on my ankles are from something called "Chiggers", and ....get this... supposedly you can't see them until it is too late!!
I think that is VERY convenient, and extremely unfair!! I am also not completely sure that I am not being fed another line, like the bit about the "Prairie Monkeys". I now have clear nail polish all over my ankles and I am not happy about it one bit!!
It's WAR against Chiggers from here on in!!
Please join in the good fight at the Discussion Forum entitled: Chiggers... Pro or Con....
