Louisville Public Schools: Seeking input on ARP ESSER funding
Under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, the United States Department of Education (USED) will make awards to State educational agencies (SEAs) to help schools safely reopen, sustain healthy operations, and address significant academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of their students as the country continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Section 2001 of the ARP requires the USED to allocate $121,974,800,000 in awards to SEAs through the Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund. Section 2001(c) of the ARP requires the USED to determine ARP ESSER Fund allocations based on the proportion that each State received under Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) in the most recent fiscal year.
In regards to ARP - ESSER funds, Louisville Public Schools is applying for access to these monies. Once the application is completed and approved the district could potentially receive up to $282,611.00. This particular grant has a three year duration, therefore, all funds must be used by September 30, 2024. In regards to these particular funds, all monies must be utilized to help schools safely reopen, sustain healthy operations, and address the significant academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of their students as Louisville and the state of Nebraska continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the guidelines provided by the United States Department of Education, funds can be utilized for: the purchase of PPE (Masks / face shields / rubber gloves), upgrades to the facility that promote good filtration and clean air access, items that promote social distancing, or reduce the potential spread of the coronavirus, technology that promotes equitable access to learning, any item, or program that reduces the loss of learning due to the pandemic and any act that allows for appropriate accommodations for children with disabilities.
Moving into the application process, the United States Department of Education has asked that public schools seek input from their stakeholders regarding the use of ARP - ESSER Funds. With that said, LPS is asking for your input regarding our potential use of ESSER funds.

YOUNG MEMORIAL PARK, MURRAY, NE.
Field Day is coming up fast and if you want to operate with us from the Murray Young Memorial Park Contact Roger, rb55930@windstream.net, soon to lock in our plans. We’d also love for you or anyone to stop by for a visit. We do tend to be a bit “laid back” in our operating philosophy, and would enjoy visits from friends we don’t see too often.
We are still “tailgating” in the parking lot at Burger King most Tuesdays, weather permitting, around six-ish.
