Welcome back The Pride!
Back to school note from Andrew Farber, Superintendent of Louisville Public Schools
For the 2021 -2022 school year, LPS intends to operate in a traditional learning environment, however, it is important to acknowledge that a change in the Coronavirus could lead to a change in the school environment. As we progress through next school year, LPS has moved to the aspect that the maintenance of Covid-19 is the personal responsibility of our families and staff. We will continue to stay in constant contact with Nebraska state officials and in the event of required changes, the district will communicate those actions as quickly as possible to our staff, families and community.
Currently, our district is made up of over 100 staff members, including teachers, para educators and support staff. Each individual in our building is focused on serving our students! As you may know, since 2015, the Louisville School District has experienced an increase in its student population. During that time, LPS has averaged 20 new students a year. To address this growth and to continue providing a great education for our students, the district has converted several areas into classrooms and has added five new staff members since 2015. Along with our current staff, their passion, dedication, and efforts towards the education of our students is tremendous.
New staff members this year include: Mrs. Lauren Reeves (Preschool), Mrs. Deb Cunningham (1st grade), Ms. MaKayla Riesberg (3rd Grade), Mrs. Monica Huber (Technology), Ms. Jacinda Davis (Middle School ELA), Ms. Kaitlin Shepard (Middle School ELA), Mrs. Jessica Holz (Spanish), Mrs. Katie Boyle (Psychologist), Mrs. Vivianna Desmoineaux (Speech Language Therapist) and Mr Cameron Soester (Secondary Principal). Please help LPS welcome our new staff members!
Our Louisville Board of Education proudly serves our district and community, working to be good stewards of district funds while keeping the needs of our students and staff always at the forefront of their decisions. Our board members meet for their regularly scheduled board meetings on the second Monday of each month. The LPS board continues to maintain high expectations for student growth and achievement. As a collective group, it is quite common for our board members to visit our three school buildings and community/school events. Board members include: John Winkler, Kara Habrock, Jon Simon, Ashley Christiansen, Andy Mixan and Cindy Osterloh.
Thank you again for your dedication to our children and community, we look forward to working with you to improve both the learning environment and growth opportunities for our students.
