Little Flags of Spring
Maybe This Year..

When Irina and I got married, 10 years ago.. She marveled at all the recreational activities that were available everywhere around here. Namely Shopping!

In this Country Shopping is a  Sport, a Recreation and a form of Entertainment. We expect to be amused and entertained like Royalty everytime we slap leather.

(or look like we might)

She nearly fainted when I flopped down on a Mattress at Nebraska Furniture Mart to evaluate how comfy. Apparently that kind of freeform shopping might get you an all expense paid trip to Siberia in some places.

It is impressive how many opportunities there are to just browse, just wander around and Look at stuff. People are nice to you, they smile, you try out 9 cameras, get a bunch of advice, use the restroom and take a hike, and they are delighted you stopped by!

Nice!

Now that the economy is getting a little tighter, and gas is inching towards $4, it is always good to consider your entertainmant options! Look around at all the fun stuff there is to do right here! Get a park sticker and go watch the Ducks walk around the lake!

Every year I think about planting some trees. We talk about it make plans, and I call the Diggers Hot Line  Out they come with the latest precision instruments. In a flash they have marked everything and off they go to the next property

Then I can relax and look at those beautiful marker flags fluttering in the breeze all year until football season, and  then finally the snow will bury them. I no longer have to give them my address, they just say, Oh it's You again!

Out they come with more flags!

This year the flags are red, Bo Polini would approve.

Now, you would think that they would eventually get tired of me, or anoyed that I call every spring, but they love me! And what's more, it's the Law!  If you are thinking about Digging, your are legally obligated to Call .. So I do!

You know.. maybe this year..

Maybe I will stop by Maureens's
and see what she has for shovels....

Wow, this could get serious!
