Drelicharz

Minchow, Drelicharz On ECNC Honor Teams

Two Louisville Lions were named to East Central Nebraska Conference honor teams after meetings of league volleyball and football coaches.

Junior Natalie Minchow was named to the 2010 First Team All-ECNC squad, joining six seniors on the top team. Minchow, a second team choice a year ago, led the youthful Lions to a 10-21 season mark. The 5'10" hitter/setter rarely left the court while leading Louisville in most offensive categories.

Senior Paul Drelicharz represented the LHS football team on the ECNC Defensive Second Team. Known for his sure-tackling and hard hits, Drelicharz was a starter the past two seasons on defense while adding split end duties to his 2010 resume.

The Louisville Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to thank everyone in the community who made the PTO Carnival a huge success. It was great to see so many in the community to come out to support our school. The carnival helps pay for educational field trips and improvements to the school. Following my announced retirement from Louisville Schools which will take effect at the end of this school year, Louisville Schools is in the process of searching for a new Superintendent who will begin during the 2011-12 school year. Applications have been reviewed and interviews are being scheduled for the remainder of the month of November.

The Louisville Public Library is offering story time for our younger patrons. If you have children through preschool age that

would be interested in listening to a story, please come to the library on Monday afternoons at 2pm!!! While your youngster is listening to a story, feel free to browse our vast collection of books, movies and magazines! We also have several computers

Dear Louisvillians,

Beginnings. Endings. It seems appropriate to reflect on these inevitable parts of life, as we close the autumn season and begin the upcoming winter months.

The fall sports seasons have ended, and the winter ones are in the beginning stages, as athletes work to transition to wrestling and basketball at Louisville. The fall concerts have ended, and now, the Christmas program preparations are in full force. The one-act play has been practicing dutifully all fall (they'll perform next week!), and soon speech season will commence. Beginnings and endings.

On the weather-front, how many of you truly realized that winter was here last Friday night with the wet, large snowflakes that fluttered to the ground last Friday evening? (By the way, thank you to our city road crews for staying on top of the road conditions that evening!). Will we have another winter similiar to last year, or will it be more mild? The end of one season...and the beginning of the next...

Last but not least, you may have noticed another piece of news that indicates an ending and a beginning...the retirement of our Louisville Superintendent, Mr. Ed Kasl. How many of you have memories of Mr. Kasl? Can you believe that this era is ending? Or, consider the fact that we'll have brand-new superintendent soon...a new beginning and the ending of an era.

I'm sure you have your own beginnings and endings in your own life to ponder, but these were a few that seemed to be permeating this week's newsletter. I hope you relish the endings and treasure all of the beginnings in your own lives.
