Because of bus complications the blood drive was cancelled June 25th!

It has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 9th from 6:30a.m. - 10:30a.m. at the Senior Center.

I apologize for the inconvenience and all the early morning calls I made to the donors!  BUT the Red Cross is still in great need of blood donations - especially due to the flooding!

PLEASE call Donna Harris 234-2007  or  d.c.harris@hotmail.com to schedule an appointment!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

P.S.  FREE T-shirts will be given to any of the volunteers who donate their time, effort and blood!  :)

Bird found!! Looking for the owner...

petra

Looks like homing pigeon - the kind that participates in competition pigeon racing. These birds can find their way back home from distant places they have never visited before and their average flying speed over moderate distances 500 miles is around 50 mph. Champions can fly shorter distances of 100 miles at the speed of 110 miles/hr.

Hawk caught this one and released, so the bird cannot fly right now and we are hoping owner will recognize the bird and take it back home :)

(Bird has rings on its legs, we are hoping owner will be able to ID it)

Is it yours? Call 402-234-2345

Dear Louisvillians,
Well, some say would say that the summer is half over; some would say it's just getting started.  After the 4th of July has come and gone, what's there to look forward to during the rest of the summer?
Plenty.
There are many toasty days ahead of us, sizzling sunshine to soak up at the Louisville Lakes or one of the surrounding state parks.  Perhaps you're still attending sporting events in the summer or maybe it's chilling outside on the deck or porch with family and friends.
I don't think that the summer is over just yet...the thermometer and weather people have definitely indicated otherwise.  So, enjoy these July days, Louisvillians!  I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
Your Editor,
Paula
