Construction News
The south parking lot and sidewalks have been completed and all work is now moving forward on the stadium and building. Over the next couple of weeks volunteers will complete new landscaping and mulching in the medians of the south lot to establish growth yet this fall. Cheever Construction is also completing all seeding and tree planting south of the building.
Weather permitting, the track is scheduled for asphalt within the next 3 weeks and sod should cover the playing field the first week of October. The final rubber coating for the track will be added yet this fall if tempartures allow. If not, the track will be finished in early spring. On the building side, footings were poured last week for bleacher areas and we should see more footings being poured this week for the building addition. The construction project is about a month behind due to dirt stabilization issues that have now been resolved. We should see the project moving forward at a fast pace through the month of April.

MILITARY FAMILIES INVITED TO A DAY OF PUMPKIN PATCH FUN
Annual Military Family Day Planned at Bloom Where You’re Planted Farm
Bloom Where You're Planted Farm & Pumpkin Patch is hosting its fifth-annual Military Family Day on Sat. Sept. 24. Service men and women and their immediate family members will free admission to the farm all day when presenting their military ID.
Farm owners Terry and Teresa Lorensen recognize the sacrifices these men and women, their spouses and children make as part of a military family, and want to provide them a fun break and a chance to celebrate the season. "Plus, we just love meeting everyone and having a chance to say ‘thank you’. Hearing from them how much they’ve enjoyed a day out with their family is really touching and a definite bonus.” Every other regular business day during the season military families will receive $1.00 off admission for every member of their immediate family when presenting ID (regular admission $4.75).
The Pumpkin Festival at Bloom Where You're Planted Farm begins September 17th and continues through October 30. Hours are 1:00-6:00 p.m. Fridays and 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The farm is open at other times by appointment. Several more special event weekends are planned, including.
Doggy Day Oct. 8 to benefit Happy Paws Pet Advocacy and the Plattsmouth Animal Shelter, and Ag Day Oct. 15 in cooperation with Conestoga FFA. For a complete listing of activities at the farm, visit www.BloomPumpkinPatch.com.
