Louisville Girl Scouts - A little about US!
Imagine a new generation of leaders, who lead with principle rather than pride, who step across
barriers of class and race, who see the difficult work that needs doing in the world and bring boundless
energy to every challenge. They are today’s Girl Scouts. Everywhere you look, every day, in every
community across the state, individual Girl Scouts or troops are doing something to make life better
Community service is at the heart of the Girl Scout experience. It teaches girls to be confident and
compassionate citizens, who will make a difference—in their home communities and throughout the
world. Girl Scouts bestows awards upon girls who take on community service projects; the Bronze,
Silver and Gold Awards are esteemed honors that girls can achieve as Girl Scouts.

Nothing is Better than to think about Springtime and the Kiddo's playing Softball on the Green Grass of the Louisville Ball Field

-------- Hey, Umpire!! Do you need Glasses or Something!!!! --------

-------- That's My Dad!! ---------
I spoke to Kevin Albert and learned alot about the Louisville Ball Parents Association. The LBPA maintains this excellent Website : http://LouisvilleBallParentsAssociation.com/
The LBPA maintains the Ball Field completely except for the Grass Mowing that the City does. Each year they help fund the LBPA through the sale of 3x5 Banners that stay on the Ball Fence throughout the season a small entry fee that the Kiddo's pay, and through the Tasty Concessions on sale during the Games.
The Louisville Ball Parents Assoiciation (LBPA), is a non-commercial and non-partisan organization for the purpose of providing baseball and softball programs for the youth residing in the Louisville School District. The LBPA is made up of players, coaches, and volunteers from the City of Louisville, NE. Thank you to all volunteers we count on these people to sustain our organization and make it the success that is. We are dedicated to promoting, developing, sustaining, and supervising a youth baseball and softball program. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching baseball/softball rules, skills, values of teamwork, sportsmanship, safety, and other characteristics of moral citizenship.
The LBPA has served the City of Louisville youth since 1996.

So your Kids are Saying they are Bored and there is nothing to do.. WRONG:
Treasurer Stenberg, Omaha Storm Chasers Announce 13th Annual
‘Why I Want to Go to College’
Writing Contest for Seventh, Eighth Graders
Lincoln, Neb. (Jan. 12, 2015) - While a Sunday afternoon at the ball park may seem far away, the time is here for seventh and eighth graders to enter the 13th annual “Why I Want to Go to College” writing contest sponsored by the Nebraska State Treasurer’s Office and the Omaha Storm Chasers, State Treasurer Don Stenberg said today. Twelve winners will be recognized at the May 10 Storm Chasers game at Werner Park in Papillion, Neb. Three winners will be chosen in each of Nebraska’s three U.S. Congressional districts, and three winners will be selected from outside Nebraska. First-place winners will each receive a $2,000 contribution to a NEST college savings plan. Second-place winners will each receive a $1,000 contribution to a NEST plan, and third-place winners will each receive a $500 contribution to a NEST plan. First-place winners from Nebraska will receive a one-night hotel stay in Omaha, and all Nebraska winners will receive tickets to the May 10 game.
“Every year we are impressed with the big plans that seventh and eighth graders write about in their ‘Why I Want to Go to College’ essays,” Treasurer Stenberg said. “But we are also struck by the students’ references to their family members, teachers, neighbors, and friends who inspire and motivate them to do well. Contributing to a NEST college savings account for a child, grandchild, niece, nephew, or friend can go a long way to making these big plans reality.” Treasurer Stenberg said he encourages all seventh and eighth graders in public schools, private schools, and home schools in Nebraska to enter. A total of 1,044 entries were received last year. As in the past, preliminary judging will be done by students and faculty in the College of Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and final selections will be made by Treasurer Stenberg.
Entries are due March 27. Contest rules are available at http://treasurer.nebraska.gov/csp/scholarships/essay/college/2015/contest-announcement/.
The following rules apply to contest entries:
No longer than 750 words.
- Subject matter to be focused on the student’s educational goals and dreams for the future.
- Must be student’s original work.
- Must be typed, double spaced on 8 ½ X 11-inch paper.
- Must be accompanied by required cover sheet.
- Entries to be mailed to Andrea Stava, assistant general manager of operations, Omaha Storm Chasers, 12356 Ballpark Way, Papillion, Neb. 68046.
- Essays must be postmarked by March 27, 2015. Winners will be notified in late April.
- Please see contest rules for further details.

Lofte 2015 Season: Tickets, Shows and More!

Sunday morning at 03:30 a family on the outskirts of Louisville had a fire break out and called 911. It took the firefighters over twice as long to respond as normal due to the almost blizzard conditions. Springfield, Plattsmouth, Weeping Water and Manley departments struggled to get to Louisville through a junior blizzard. As I listened to the radio traffic, the firefighters were fighting a losing battle as 4 wheel drive units got stuck trying to get to the fire, mutual aid departments were delayed by bad road conditions and snow removal equipment were also delayed I thought that when the Monday morning quarterbacks (the people who are too busy to volunteer) review this response, they will likely blame the department members. Not being able to get to an emergency scene due to snow and ice on steep streets is not the fault of the department. Neither is not having enough firefighters to carry hose a quarter of a mile uphill through snowdrifts. It took so long to deploy attack lines, set up a water supply, and begin pumping water that the fire was through the roof and the house became a total loss. These ignoramuses need to realize that in any community, public services are not just fire and rescue, but include clearing streets and making sure there is an adequate water supply for not only daily use, but fire suppression as well. These ignorant complainers are the ones who don't have time to contribute, complain their taxes are too high and always are more knowledgable about how things should be done than the folks who give up their time help fellow citizens.
In 2005 I remember citizens in this town complaining that a new fire station wasn't necessary; we didn't need different types of apparatus; firefighters didn't need current personal protective equipment and a fire protection levy is too much of a tax burden because taxes were too high already. Luckily, most voters voted yes on the bond issue for the new station. Guess what? I heard a similar comment at a recent board meeting. I don't know what drives the complainers, obstructionists and backbiters, but there seems to be a small and vocal element in every small town. You can see them at most emergencies - they are the ones taking pictures with their cell phones (which by the way, you idiots, often violates a victim's privacy) and they are the ones interviewed by the media spouting their ignorance on the local news.
I was trying to be nicer this year - it lasted just over a month.
