Affordable Housing for the birds in Louisville
On the advice of a friend my wife and decided to do some Christmas shopping at the Louisville Antiques and A Birdhouse shop owned by Paul and Nancy McManis last weekend.
One of Louisville's primary businesses right on Main Street, I was delighted to see what a tremendous and beautifully diverse selection of fine Antiques Paul has acquired, but the biggest surprise was the wonderful selection of genuine Nebraska birdhouses and butterfly houses they have displayed in the back area of their store.

If you have never made the trip to see what they have in store, this weekend is the time!
For the person that has everything, ... no they don't... you just haven't visited Paul and Nancy's shop yet!

Louisville Challenges Whoosville!
From our Louisville Jaycees

The Jaycees were contacted a while back to see if we would donate a Christmas tree to put up on the corner of 3rd and Main, next to the Hardware Store. The Louisville Area Jaycees stepped up and went out to find a tree for our community to use.
The awesome children at Louisville public Schools were asked to make all the decorations for the tree and the lights were donated by Maureen and Larry Galizia from Stander Ace Hardware.
We all, as a community have gotten together to make a tree as beautiful as the one the "Who's from "Whoosville" in the "Grinch Who Stole Christmas"

Look for these cool Jaycees folks out and about in the community and don't hesitate to make suggestions to them! They are here to work for you! They are already busy trying to get Louisville Daz planned for next year!

Your Mayor Speaks!
The Louisville Care Center has recently been experiencing a personnel shortage.  This shortage has resulted in only 88% capacity of the nursing home.  Anyone who knows of someone who is an RN or LPN, or someone interested in completing the Certified Nursing Assistant training that might be interested in working at the Louisville Care Center should encourage those individuals to contact the Care Center.  Housekeeping and dietary aide positions are also available.  The Louisville Care Center offers a competitive wage and benefit package, along with a great working environment.

All that Jazz at the Open House!
The Mayor and City Council invite all residents to stop in at City Hall on December 14, 2001, for a Holiday Open House.  Cookies, coffee and punch will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The High School Christmas Jazz Combo will perform between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m.

I stand Corrected! ( A Lot...)
My appreciation to Linda Bone, who caught a glaring error I made in a previous Newsletter:

It's a "small" mistake and one that is commonly made, but being an "Army brat" who spent many years following my dad from post to post and then having spent almost 34 years working for the Army as a civilian, it's a mistake I feel I must point out to you. Flags are at haft mast or full mast only on ships. The correct term(s) is half staff or full staff.

Thanks Linda!
