June 5th, 2003The Doctor is IN! (est. June 23rd)
The last several months have cost several of our community leaders a lot of lost sleep, hard work and aggravation. Wrestling with the realities of small town medical access in the 21st century takes nerve and determination.
One man in our town gets the real credit for doing the impossible, and that is Bob Copple! Bob had immediate offers to take over the vacant doctors office. Offers that would have been more profitable and simpler, yet Bob stuck to his plan to find a way to bring new doctors to Louisville and help the Community.
When others gave up, Bob kept battling and as a direct result;
Louisville Welcomes our New Doctor:
Health System Physician
Great Job Bob, and Mitch, and Alan and Dave and everyone else that worked so very hard to get this done!
It was a Cold and Drizzly Night...
5:30am under dark and cloudy skies, silhouettes of huddled Jaycees moving in the street. Rain slickers cold hands and wet socks can't dampen the spirits of this warm hearted bunch! Working with purpose and determination Main Street Louisville began to take on the look of a festival in the works. But.. what about the rain??
Later a figure appears moving quickly along Main Street looking like a great weight of responsibility was resting on her shoulders. It was Louisville Daz Parade director; Lynn Berner. But.. what about the rain??
Parade floats and vehicles make their way through the drizzly scene to the line up area, when suddenly.. quietly.. it STOPPED RAINING!!
Smiles began popping out like dandelions, last minute polishing and decorating and then the band started up and the Louisville Daz Parade began! Click: HERE for our Photos by Staff Photographer Tim Severs.

What the Cat Saw...
Hi Hardware Cat Fans!
What Happened to the Drought?..
Ya know, it seemed like it was just a couple of summers ago, we were all worried about water. People were restricting water, people had their grass turning brown, and everybody was running around fussing about water, water, water!
They were fussing with the well and folks were worried about the Platte, it was just a mess.
Nobody was smiling, they should have asked me about it.
Have you noticed that we are up to our fuzzy tails in water this year, and suddenly the drought is just a memory.
Well, wasn't but a couple months ago and everybody was fussing that we were out of doctors around here. Now it seems that we are up to our fuzzy tails in doctors all of a sudden!
We got a brand spankin' new chiropractor down there next to the Dairy Creme, and turns out we get a brand new doctor moving in to our Main Street!!
If people would just relax and ask me, I would tell 'em that everything comes around and ya don't have to get all bug-eyed and worried 'cause we are livin in a pretty good town.
When ya start gettin all buggy-eyed just curl up and watch that 'ol paint shaker for a spell. You will be just fine.
Having fun, and Watch'in the Shaker south of the river....
