There is just no better way to learn what's up, with the Mayor, City Council and our Friends in City Hall, then read the Meeting Minutes! Click HERE : http://www.louisvillenebraska.com/city/mn011404.htm
It is really pretty amazing all the work that they do for our home town, that we all just take for granted.

Say, just a couple observations here..

First, not to overdue it, but we have the best darn city workers we could have. We have been getting pounded with snow, and the only place you can be sure is nicely clean and cared for are the streets of Louisville, just excellent, always.

Next, we have some genuine treasures in town that few people seem to think about; Jeff and Ken at the Jack&Jill just bend over backwards to keep fresh meat and produce right here on Main Street.
I still don't know if people realize that Jeff is a trained professional butcher and as such, you can order up a custom roast, or steaks, or chops or any other feast and it is ready when you are, and there is NONE better. I like knowing that the ground beef was made with special care and with the best meats right here, not downtown Detroit. If you are not getting you meat from Jeff, you are missing a special Louisville treat.

Last, good ol' Kevin at NAPA is one of the hardest working, honest and helpful car guys that I have ever met. In my 7 years here, I have been at the mercy of stupid car problems at least 10 times. I have had to come hat-in-hand to Kevin on many of these occasions, and I have never been disappointed. There are some folks, that just don't need a reference book, they know every spark plug, and fuel pump that Detroit ever thought up. Each time I needed help, it was always just the right fix, and was always 1/2 of what I thought it should have cost me.
Try to stop by next Tuesday, and tell Kevin how much we appreciate having him on our Main Street.

That is all I have to say...

What the Cat Saw...
Hi Hardware Cat Fans!

Real Valentines for Real Heros..
While trying to catch a few rays of sunshine and napping in the front window of the Stander and Stander Hardware Store, I have been noticing a lot of "Good-Hearted" people delivering Valentines to the "Care Mail Box" located in the Lobby of the City Office Building.

I naturally assumed they were all for me, then I over heard that Lynn gal from the Real Estate office,
(I really have a crush on her), saying to Maureen that these Valentines are going to be delivered to the Veterans in the Veterans Hospital in Omaha next Monday, February 9, 2004. I got to thinking, what a wonderful way to let these heros know, that we are still thinking of them, and that we really are thankful for their tremendous sacrifices! ...remember, the 4th of July is only 122 days away... What a great idea for the kids.

I think maybe I will wander over to Blakes, have me a sundae, and then pick out some valentines for these heros.

By the way, I have had it up to my whiskers with all the attention that stupid ground hog gets every February. (stupid rodent) I am hear to tell you that, I didn't see MY on Monday, so I am saying  we will have an early Spring!!

Having fun, and Picking out Valentines south of the river....
