October 27, 2004Got Wood?
This has been the most remarkably beautiful Autumn that I can remember in small town Nebraska.
The leaves, the colors the nice chill in the air. I will tell you that Vermont has nothing on us. (It would be perfect if the Huskers West Coast Offense didn't stink this year.)
All my neighbors are buzzing around getting ready for the inevitable snow, and we had the pleasure of getting a cord of the most beautiful split firewood I have ever seen from our good neighbor Wayne Chriswisser who has a heck of a business going.
Good ol Wayne is not only supplying the area with fuel for the cold winter months, he is providing specialty cooking wood to places like Famous Daves and bundles for campers at Mahoney State Park.
Wayne asked the elfs at WireBuilt to help him get the word out and grow his business.
We have been busily working and now it is almost ready: www.WaynesFirewood.com/ you can contact Wayne, or order wood on line. Take a Peek: Click HERE Sub Wars
Louisville has become the best darn place to stop and get a snack, south of the Platte!
With the recent addition of Subway Sandwiches next to the Quik Pik, and Gambino's Pizza (and subs) right across the street, plus the new Blakes Soda Fountain featuring Ted & Wally's Ice Cream and Yogurt a little further down Main Street, competition is heating up for the attention of the customer. Recently we have observed lawn signs advertising; "We have cheaper prices on subs then Our Local Competition".
Think about that for a minute. It is like the doctors in Louisville!
I mean, it wasn't long ago, that it was not clear where you could get something to eat, and now we have an abundance of choices.
It was also not long ago that we had no local doctor or dentist, and now we have Doctors, Dentists and Chiropractors right on main street!
You have got at least 4 places to eat ice cream, and then a dentist to fix the resulting cavities within a couple blocks!
Like my good friend Mark Leibman says; "Man, It has become Cool to be in Louisville!"
Speaking of tasty stuff to eat, Who is more Famous than Famous Dave? Well around here it is good old Uncle Earnie and the best barbecue sauce for miles around.
The elves at WireBuilt have provided Uncle Earnie a way to sell his famous sauce to the world with online ordering at his website. Check It Out at: http://UncleEarnies.com/

First it needs to recognized that the organization Louisville BUILD was the brain child of our hard working energetic Lynn Berner Smith back when the Main Street project was causing some friction between Main Street businesses. It was critical to get folks back pulling the wagon the same direction and Lynn offered an organization of United Business Owners as a solution.
The success of this organization has brought many important improvements, and now the question is; what are the real goals and objectives for this group of dedicated business owners? I know one goal without thinking very hard, and that is to get a much broader involvement from local business owners. The next meeting of BUILD is 7:30am on Voting Day 11/2 at the City Offices. If you are a local business owner, please take time to attend and join us in this good work!
Please Email BUILD with your suggestions as to the Priorities and Goals for the Organization to continue to grow a strong Louisville Economy. Click HERE
Get your Business on The Internet - NOW
In the coming months, WireBuilt Company is going to try to make a compelling case for you to create a website for your business. It really is time. The Internet is part of doing business both locally and nationally. It is a convenience for your customers, it is a matter of credibility for others and it is something that the good folks at WireBuilt Company want to help you with.
As you can see with our most recent project: www.WaynesFirewood.com every business can benefit. We are your neighbors, not the least bit scary. We can get together for coffee this Saturday morning. We will help you every step, and we will make it affordable and rewarding.
Now, we have begun thinking about providing discounts to businesses that are active members of www.B-U-I-L-D.com It is important to get involved with BUILD, it is important to get a website, and we want to make all of the above as inexpensive and convenient as possible.

What the Cat Saw...
Hi Hardware Cat Fans!
Okay, The Legend of the Cat! (That is Me!)
Kids from far and near, have traveled to Louisville for one purpose, and one purpose only.
Here at Maureen and Larry's Mainstreet hardware store, there is something for everyone, and wonders that you just can't imagine. They have paint of every color, a charming paint shaker, loads of gadgets and wire nuts. They have a fresh supply of Mole-No-More just waiting to meet you.
But, don't be fooled.. The real reason that people journey to Main Street Louisville, and open our doors is me.
For FREE you can visit the hardware store and request to pet The Cat!The thrill that folks get, from a couple of quick pats on my head is tremendous, and you can see them whistling to themselves as the continue on their merry way. Many never wash that hand again.
(subject to Cat mood and availability)
There is even a sign on the door, to let folks know, that this is the place!
I know it's the popularity of Petting the Hardware Cat that is the driving element behind Louisville's growth and popularity. Well, it is a lonely job being an ICON but it has to be done.
Having fun, and Petting the CAT south of the river....
Hank the Hardware Cat
