Louisville Schools Begins Its
141st School Year
Louisville Schools will begin its 2007-08 academic year on Thursday, August 16th.
I would like to personally welcome all of the students, staff and Louisville District patrons to the 2007-2008 school year.
Louisville School's enrollment for this year is projected right at 500 students which is approximately the same as last year and a slight increase from the past couple of years.
Our enrollment has continued to grow at a slow, but consistent pace during the past decade.
Many changes and challenges continue to face the future of education both at Louisville and throughout the State of Nebraska. Even with the ever-increasing responsibilities and regulations, Louisville Schools views education as the most important experience in insuring the success of all young people.
We are committed to making this experience both positive and impacting on our students.

The city council recently accepted the resignation of Randy Payne from the maintenance department. Randy has been with the city since April 1995 and he has now chosen to pursue a new career. Although we won't see Randy driving around in the city truck, we're sure he'll become just as familiar in his new truck.
It will, however, be MUCH bigger and have a different logo on the side that says: "Randy Payne Trucking"
All of us at the city wish him the best of luck!

Louisville lost it's Chiropractor last year, when Dr. Jensen accepted a position with a firm on the East Coast, since that time Louisville has looked east to Dr. Julie in Plattsmouth for relief, and healthy living practices. Now as an extension of their practice they offer, exercise, Tai Chi, Acupuncture, and now Martial Arts for a whole body approach to wellness.

Be Careful what you Wish for..
Last year, we had such a disappointment when all of our tomatoes developed something called, Blossom End Rot.. . wow.. that even sounds nasty..
That was after a long hot summer of building raised beds, shoveling cow residue, watering, weeding, waiting.. and .. Rats!
No Tomatoes means, no salsa, and then how can you watch football? Now, it is common knowledge that Pam Snodgrass has the best salsa recipe in Cass County and she gave us a copy, which just made matters worse..
This year, we were determined, we set out to cure BER and armed with the latest ag technology, we soundly defeated this scourge! But now we have got tomatoes, and tomatoes, and more tomatoes! We are having to move tomatoes out of the way, to be able to see the TV!
We tried going door to door, handing out tomatoes, and ended up just leaving baskets on peoples steps.
So, if you wake up and find a basket of Toms, that was probably us. Enjoy!
