The Prez and The Wiz
Smoke everywhere, flames shooting up from the Cook Top, panic, and something red in the corner. Pull the tab, squeeze the trigger, crisis over....
Right after we built our home in Louisville, BUILD President Terri Scholting visited and presented us a house warming gift. A small red Fire Extinguisher. The BUILD welcome Committee, Chaired by Jeanne Anderson welcomes all new residents with a special gift bag, and lots of goodies. I was impressed with the gift and poked it into a corner quickly to be forgotten. Human nature, such as it is, it is extremely unlikely that I would have ever bought such a device, but as it turns out it probably saved the House.
Another crisis came with less drama when my wife recognized that our finances had reached critical mass...
(Ask anyone that has every started a small business, ....or 4 of them)
Again, BUILD to the rescue!
Louisville has a secret weapon named Andy Mixan known as "The Wizard" to those that have sought his wisdom. BUILD member Andy has now helped several folks that we have referred and the results has been smiles, and happy ever after endings.
It occurs to me, that this is all a factor of small town life. I just don't think you are gonna get that level of care from folks in the Big City. People just do a little extra, because they know who you are, and are likely to see you again at Jeff's, on the street, at the ball game, in church. Just gotta take care of folks, cause there is only so many of us.
That makes us all kinda Special!Having Fun and Buying Chicken Poo South of the River
One more reason to look up and down Main Street, and do business with your Neighbors.
It is our community, keep your cash in Louisville where it does the most good.
I think that Omaha will get along just fine without it.
